Lightning in a Bottle Festival 2011

Crowd: The crowd is LIB’s biggest attraction for this is not just a music festival. LIB is a place that will transform the way you see the world and yourself over an amazing four day span. The crowd is one made up of Burners, people who attend Burning Man, who happen to be the coolest people on earth. At LIB you can walk up to anyone and start a conversation as if you have been friends forever. There is a great chance that after your conversation you will be.

Organization: LIB did an amazing job last year. The whole festival was perfect. The bathrooms were clean but it would be nice if they had lights in them. It’ s always good to bring your own.

Stages:  The stages at LIB are amazing. They combine perfect sound with beautiful lighting to take you into a world only the Do LaB can create.

Landscape: The stages have grass and the rest of the festival is gravel. You are surrounded by wonderful trees and are right next to Lake Irvine. Oh and the temperature is perfect!

Food: Food was where a feel LIB totally dropped the ball. They only offered vegetarian dishes. This left me starving after 4 days. In my book only offering vegetarian dishes is as bad as only offering dishes with meat in them.

What makes this festival special? With their combination of amazing people, great music, yoga, lighting, and perfect weather LIB can only be described as special. This festival is like being in heaven for four days. You are on your own schedule. There are things to do 24 hours a day. Look for fun and you will find it. I can’t wait to go back.

What could be improved? Their wristband system took forever. There has to be a better way then the system they had. This is a very minor complaint. Oh, and they need to sell meat products and not push their views on being vegetarian onto others.

Overall Rating: 5 stars. This festival changed me on the inside. I can’t wait to do it again.
