Electric Daisy Carnival 2011

Crowd: The crowd for EDC is a real mixed bag. You have a bunch of fun loving people who are dressed up in sick outfits ready to dance their asses off. You also have mix of kids who somehow have an ID that says they are 18  running around being annoying. The last group is a bunch of people who always look like they are up to no good. Overall it’s still a good group. You will not make as many friends here as at other festivals but there is still lots of fun to be had.

Stages:  The stages at EDC are unbelievable. EDC is the only festival whose stages almost match Coachella’s. Insomniac, producer of EDC, really knows its audience and delivers when it comes to big and mind melting stages.

EDC is held at the Las Vegas Speedway so most of the terrain is asphalt. My favorite stage does give you some grass to chill out on. Since EDC is held at night the asphalt is not hot, so overall it’s very acceptable.

Food: I don’t recall them even selling food. Their water was $5 a bottle but they did give you the option of buying a refillable one and would fill it for free. Works for me.

What makes this festival special? The hours. It runs from 8pm at night until 8am in the morning. Freaking awesome!

What could be improved? I wish the lineup had a few other actual bands. Empire of the Sun and Infected Mushroom were a happy change up to an all DJ lineup.

Overall Rating: 3.5 stars. If you like electronic music I would go for sure.
